The National Convention Centre Canberra is committed to driving change and feels a responsibility to advocate good business practices
The Centre participates in the following programs and initiatives to support the ACT and the wider community:
- Donation of surplus food to OzHarvest
- Adoption of cage free eggs through the RSPCA’s egg program
- Supplying food to Big Bang Ballers basketball outreach program
- Organic Recycling
- Catering support for the Raiders Indigenous camps
World Chefs Tour Against Hunger 2011
In August 2011, the National Convention Centre’s Head Chef Mike Scheumann travelled to South Africa as part of the World Chef Tour Against Hunger.
Mike proudly participated in activities that raised awareness and over $4.5m to support and provide food to underprivileged children throughout Africa.
