National Museum of Australia

Explore the land, nation and people of Australia

The National Museum of Australia maps out Australia’s social history and tells interactive stories about the land, nation and people of Australia and the events that shaped the nation through the preservation of art and other artefacts and exhibitions, collections, programs and research.

The permanent galleries profile 50,000 years of indigenous heritage, early colonial beginnings and key events that moulded the nation such as Federation and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
