Community

At the National Convention Centre (NCC) we believe that a little change by many can make a significant difference in the future. We are committed to driving change; that’s why we are involved with the following initiatives so that our community’s future can be a bright one:

Choose Wisely - RSPCA

The National Convention Centre Canberra is the first of its kind in Australia to join the RSPCA's Choose Wisely initiative, ensuring every egg used in our kitchens is cage free. This includes using only RSPCA accredited barn laid or free range eggs. Our guarantee is that every egg we serve has the RSPCA stamp of approval.

We are proud to support the ‘Choose Wisely’ initiative; but we don’t just stop there. The National Convention Centre does its best to support all RSPCA initiatives. Whether it’s raising money through RSPCA’s cupcake day, fundraising dinners, Million Paws Walk or trivia nights, the National Convention Centre is proud to support the RSPCA.

OzHarvest

Thanks to OzHarvest, our excess food does not go to waste. The National Convention Centre regularly contributes its excess food to Ozharvest who distributes this to various charities.

A policy that works

Our philosophy, intentions and objectives outlined in our environmental policy are not just a statement. They are collaborations involving years of thinking, which our team members take very seriously. From large scale issues involving waste management and linen usage to the little things such as assisting our clients by including public transport and walking maps to reduce delegate environmental footprints; we are constantly thinking and evolving our policy to ensure it works for our centre, our team members and our clients.
